Emma - ADOPTED OCTOBER 2011
Hello, my name is Kelsey. My grandmother and I adopted the most adorabe itailian greyhound named Emma from the Italian Greyhound Club Of America. It took a few months from
begining to actually meeting and adopting Emma, but it was so worth the wait. She has brought happiness to us that greatly exceeds our expectations. It took Emma all of five minutes to
adapt to us as well as to her new life. We thank Cathy White from Conneticut for driving her all the way to our house in the state of New Hampshire. Emma is beautiful, full of personality,
well behaved, and perhaps most importantly makes us laugh all the time. We are giving each other a wonderful life. Shes very spoiled here and boy is she loving it. If you are in need of
a canine companion, please take my word for it and rescue an itailian greyhound. I have never been happier with a friend. Its sort of like having a beautiful, regal, clown living in your
home. If your thinking about it dont hesitate. Go for it. This really is a truly amazing breed of dog.
Kayla - ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 2011
My husband and I adopted Kayla 5 days ago and she is amazing! As you can see she has made herself right at home and she is such a joy to us. We were a bit nervous about her
getting along with our cat, but she loves him. He is not quite ready to accept her yet, however I predict they will become fast friends in the next few weeks. I don't think
Kayla has had much experience walking on a leash, but she is catching on real quick. She has not gone potty outside at all for us, but she consistantly goes on her piddle pad
and has had no accidents yet. Kayla loves bedtime, and enjoys sneaking under the covers to sleep with us. Kayla is a great addition to our family and we will love her forever.

she's not running or walking with me she's definitely lounging in her bed or in someones lap. I just want to thank every one at East Coast IG Rescue

Jesse - ADOPTED July 2010
Jesse (formerly "Julius", or "JC") joined our hound family on 7/3/10. Jesse never ceases to put a smile on my face -- a wonderful rainbow after a
cloudy, heartbreaking year of losing my two very special iggies (Bailey and Lexi). Jesse is a great example of how important it is to look beyond
first impressions -- and to trust that Mary instinctively knows where her adopted iggies will thrive. When I first met Jesse on his adoption
or "gotcha") day, I didn't feel an instantaneous bond. He didn't engage much -- just walked around, checking out the other dogs and the gardens. He
seemed a bit stressed and aloof -- but he had also just come from a long stay with his wonderful foster family, so I expected him to be anxious,
especially after reading Mary's description of him on the ECIGR website. He snoozed all the way home, did some exploring inside and out, and to my
astonishment, wound up in my bed, under the covers, by the end of that first evening. He's still uncertain, but he's engaging more every day, and his
lovable personality is coming out. He's learned how to wait until my 4 galgos are downstairs, then run upstairs to the bedroom to claim his rightful
spot on the bed. He's voicing his opinion, as well as his need for attention. He loves his skritches, and even though he's learning to navigate
through the galgos' eclectic personalities, is figuring it all out on his own by flying under the radar. He's very clever, and I look forward to
watching him continue to blossom.
These little guys will surprise you. When you're ready to adopt, don't shy away from iggies who may seem a bit hesitant, or who aren't the snuggly,
playful, outgoing iggies we think of when we decide to add an iggy to our home. These pups are just waiting for someone to give them a chance, love
them for who they are, but also remember that who they are the day you meet them, is probably not the "real" iggy you will come to know. They are so
worth the patience and love.
Jesse says "thank you, Aunt Mary and foster mom Justine, for believing in me"!
